Minecraft India has been run by its own players since 2016. Nobody here is paid and nobody does it full time. What keeps 28,000 members' community working is a handful of people who each picked up one part of it and stuck around. These are the parts.

We are not taking applications right now. The roles below are what we recruit for when we open again, so it is worth reading either way. We announce openings on our Discord, so keep an eye there.

The roles

Community Manager

Closed

You are not just a moderator, you are 99% admin. The community has eyes on you, and keeping the show running falls to you.

Platforms: Facebook group, Reddit, Discord, Telegram. Apply for one, some or all of them.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the community on every level, on whichever platforms you take on.
  • Report anything sensitive or serious to an admin.
  • Stay sensitive towards members and leave room for freedom of expression.
  • Keep in touch with the rest of the staff.

Requirements

  • Native English or Hindi speaker
  • Strong communication & organisational skills
  • Patient and results-oriented about content and support work
  • Resident of India
  • Passionate about Minecraft!
  • Minimum age: 18+, exceptions possible

Social media manager

Closed

Keep the quality of what goes out in English and Hindi: new posts that are engaging, informative and within the community's policy.

Platforms: Facebook page, Twitter, Minecraft India Blog. Apply for one, some or all of them.

Responsibilities

  • Consistent posting to keep page viewers engage.
  • Handle the DMs on the page accounts.
  • Report to a community manager.

Requirements

  • Native English or Hindi speaker
  • Passion for and understanding of content writing
  • Previous content writing or editing experience (optional)
  • Passionate about Minecraft
  • Minimum age: 15+

Content Creator

Closed

Deliver videos in English or Hindi that are worth watching, and that stay within the community's policy. Apply for the parts you are good at, not all of them.

Platforms: YouTube. Apply for one, some or all of them.

You can apply for

  • Thumbnail design
  • Video editing
  • Recording
  • Narration and commentary
  • Scripting and direction

Responsibilities

  • Everything you submit is your own original work. Copyright infringement ends the arrangement.
  • Send recorded footage to the team to be processed and edited.
  • Report your progress weekly to your community manager or team lead.

Requirements

  • Native English or Hindi speaker
  • Passion for and understanding of YouTube
  • Able to record at 1080p or 720p
  • Passionate about Minecraft
  • Minimum age: 15+

Who can apply

We only consider applications from genuine profiles. That means:

  • The profile you apply with is your own. Page accounts and shared or parent accounts are discarded.
  • It carries your real photo, your city, and the usual details a real profile has.
  • You have been part of the community for at least four months. Less is possible for members who are clearly active.

The final call on every application is ours.

The community is non-profit, so there is no payout. What we can give back:
